We are loving this Yoga in the Park tradition and it comes back this summer, starting July 7. The whole Modo Yoga Montréal crew is delighted to offer you another edition of Yoga in the Park at the foot of the mountain, Parc des Amériques (corner Rachel & St-Laurent). Weather permitting.
This year, we are coming back with an optional pay-by-donation ($5 suggested) concept and will be raising money for Junglekeepers.

Your hips are primarily meant to support the body, upper and lower. They are also an integral component in keeping your spine healthy and functioning optimally. This workshop will emphasis the importance of strengthening (not just lengthening) your hips. We will investigate the concept of mobilization, the importance of rotation, and how simple and precise strengthening techniques will drastically improve your yoga practice. All levels welcome.

Do you know what active versus passive mobility refers to? Can you explain the difference between closed and open chain activities, and their respective utility? What are isometric, eccentric, and concentric contractions, and how do they apply to the current culture of movement? If you are a teacher of ANY kind of intelligent movement, a dancer, a student of any form of movement, having an awareness of this terminology is considerably useful. It’s also VERY SIMPLE. Let’s have a discussion and explore the topic of movement. Let’s take what we’ve discussed and put it into action, and see how it feels in our body. A reframing, a reorientation of the ways we move is underway. Come improve the way you move. All levels welcome.
